As part of an initiative by the Mornington Peninsula Shire and VicHealth, I had the privilege of producing a series of videos designed to inspire young people to explore careers in creative industries. The project aimed to showcase the diverse paths to success in the arts and culture sector, proving that thriving in a creative field is not only possible but rewarding. As a production team, we spent a day with each artist, conducting an interview and covering them at work to produce a series of short documentaries.
The heart of the project lay in authentic stories. Through interviews with accomplished creatives, we delved into their career journeys, revealing the challenges they’ve overcome and the successes they’ve achieved. These candid insights offered a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to turn passion into a profession.
The Mornington Peninsula Shire was thrilled with the final product and shared the videos widely across the community. This enthusiasm not only reflected their dedication to supporting young people but also amplified the reach and impact of the project.
Since the project’s release, it has resonated with young viewers, sparking conversations about pursuing creative dreams. Feedback from the community indicates that these videos have inspired emerging talents to take bold steps toward careers in the arts.
By collaborating with the Mornington Peninsula Shire, I was able to combine storytelling with purpose, creating content that leaves a lasting impression. It’s projects like these that remind me why I’m passionate about videography: the ability to inspire, educate, and connect.
